MEET THE TEAM

The "Meet the Team" video project was more than just a video series; it was an initiative designed to bridge the gap between Kings Education's professional image and the individuals who drive its success. My objective was to humanize the brand, showcasing the diverse personalities behind the scenes. To achieve this, I developed a concept that juxtaposed each subject's professional persona with their personal passions and hobbies.

The project involved a four-person media team who, under my guidance, conducted interviews and captured b-roll footage. We explored a wide range of unexpected activities, from sea swimming to DJ'ing, revealing hidden talents and interests. The resulting video series offered a unique and engaging perspective on the Kings Education team, fostering a deeper connection with their audience. The project was warmly received both internally, boosting morale and camaraderie, and externally among B2B clients, who appreciated the authentic and personable approach.

This cross-platform approach significantly boosted engagement, fostering goodwill both internally among colleagues and externally with clients and customers.

Project X-Ray

1. Aims

The 'Meet the Team' project aimed to humanise the professionals behind the job titles at Kings Education. By showcasing their personalities and passions, we sought to build a deeper connection with various audiences, fostering a sense of affiliation and understanding. We wanted to reveal the people, not just the positions.

4. Resources

While resources were limited, they were adequate for the project's scope. This constraint forced the team to think creatively and improvise, pushing them outside their comfort zones. We learned to maximise the impact of every resource, proving that ingenuity can overcome limitations.

2. Training

This project required significant training for our media juniors. We focused on developing their skills in strategic planning and execution, from identifying suitable subjects and crafting compelling interview questions to planning and executing separate shoots that highlighted each subject's unique passions and hobbies. This involved teaching them to see the story beyond the surface.

5. Challenges

The challenges were varied, from coordinating busy schedules to capturing authentic moments in diverse environments. We had to balance professional representation with personal expression, ensuring each subject felt comfortable and genuinely portrayed. Maintaining consistency across all shoots while highlighting individual uniqueness was also a key challenge.

3. Technical

Technically, 'Meet the Team' pushed us to explore new and challenging shooting styles. One subject, an avid sea swimmer, required sea filming and dynamic action shots, while another, who worked with historic artifacts, demanded meticulous lighting and close-up detail. We had to adapt our techniques to capture the essence of each individual.

6. Outcomes

The 'Meet the Team' series was a resounding success, proving incredibly popular across all Kings Education social media channels. The series effectively humanised the team, increased engagement, and strengthened the connection between the institution and its audience. It demonstrated the power of authentic storytelling in building brand affinity.
