Neil Richards
Neil is a real writer, in the sense that it's his craft, his vocation. He approaches it with the same deep, unpretentious mindset you'd find in any seasoned craftsperson, dedicating himself to it from nine to five. From award-winning children's series’ to Hollywood film scripts, smash-hit video games to best-selling audiobooks, Neil embodies the dedication and skill of an old-school writer, possessing a deep and hard-earned knowledge of his craft. When you're talking to Neil, he periodically recedes from the conversation, just fractionally, and you get the feeling he might be studying what you just said; dissecting it even. Then, he's back in the room.
Beyond his impressive resume, Neil is a crime writer, but of the new school. Not so much your Truman Capote or Anne Rule, but more akin to Agatha Christie, if she were publishing today across platforms like Spotify and audiobooks. The genre is known as 'Cosy Crime,' and Neil’s legions of dedicated fans eagerly await each new installment. And they arrive frequently. Several million downloads later, Neil and his writing partner (in crime), Matt Costello, are exploring new ways to introduce their cosy crime series to a wider audience.
